This role requires deep business understanding and attention to detail. The analyst will facilitate meetings with core leadership teams to gather and define detailed business requirements. This role involves providing expert guidance and support to customers in the use and management of system applications. A key focus is on maintaining a customer-centric approach throughout the analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, and implementation phases of projects. The role is also responsible for delivering all discovery artifacts and acting as a liaison between various teams, ensuring successful workflow implementations while adhering to established project management processes. The Business Development Analyst will support the development of requirements for Upland’s policy forms and product enhancements, rater updates, underwriting guideline updates, reinsurance reporting and other process enhancements.  In addition, the position will assist with supporting established Underwriting teams and participate in the launch of new business units. In support of the growing Upland underwriting business, you will become an operational service expert and advocate for the ongoing and developing needs of one or two underwriting teams.  You will provide guidance on the existing business workflows and assist in developing and prioritizing business initiatives with a continuous improvement mindset.

Underwriting Assistant

The role of the Underwriting Assistant is to process, verify and assign incoming submissions to the Underwriting team. This role is also responsible for the support & servicing of underwriting tasks on a daily basis. This role will also assist with the training and mentoring of new team members when necessary. The Underwriting Assistant acts as an extension to our Underwriters and is responsible for handling urgent requests, all technical processing, and acting as a point of contact for our customers in our Underwriter’s absence. The Underwriting Assistant will need to diagnose urgent issues and prioritize them as well as triage accordingly to ensure expeditious handling and retention of business.
